Oily stuff

Thanks to having nice weather these days, I was able to set up the easel on the balcony, and pulled my oil paint box off the shelf (unsettling the dust and the cobwebs on it by doing so). These small paintings (20×20 cm each) were meant to be exercises in painting, and each took several hours, from start to finish. They are not as precise or detailed as they could be, but my intention was to capture the light and practise numerous definitions of white, while the daylight lasts. I bought the flower at the market (Arum Lily – Zantedeschia aethiopica, or Kala in my native language) , and the landscape is a small part of the view from the balcony (a Belgrade suburb in the distance, called Borcha). I’m hoping to find some time to pain another one of these flowers, but this time in extreme close-up. Painting is yummy…:)
